NDC women appeal for calm in party

Accra, Sept 21, GNA - The Greater Accra Regional Wing of the National Democratic Congress on Wednesday called for a halt to all insults and attacks the members of the party were inflicting on themselves.

The women said the grassroots supporters of the party were being demoralized by the rumpus in the party. A statement Madam Rose Sackey, Regional Women Organizer and Madam Vivian Ankrah and Madam Hawawu Salifu, both members of the party signed expressed concern "about the daily reports being published by the newspapers about the rumpus in the NDC." It said, "We of the NDC Greater Accra Women's Wing believe in cohesion and collaboration because a house that is divided will not stand.

"We are of the opinion that everyone has contributed his or her quota to the growth of the party. Unity enabled us to fight gallantly to win the two elections and it is time to bring sanity into the system." The statement said: "The NDC has so many opponents out there, therefore, internal wrangling will not help us."

It added that it was their love of the party that has compelled them to come out with the statement to enable the party to forge ahead as one entity for victory.
