NGO trains women in income generating activity

Weep No More Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has organised a workshop for some women in Accra to empower them on the various ways of using flour to generate money.

The workshop, which was held on the theme: “To Empower Women in different ways of using flour to generate income,” was held in collaboration with Pegados Cake Creation and Saki’s Bakery and Catering Services.

Reverend Mrs Grace Boateng, Founder of the NGO, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that, the workshop was held to equip the women with the needed skills, especially on the various usage of flour to generate income.

She said, flour could be used to make many consumable products, hence a good business venture and is important to help train the unemployed women for them to be empowered financially.

“Equipping someone with vocational skills is always the best thing to do and that is why the Foundation is working to provide unemployed women with needed skills to provide them income generating activities,” she said.

Mrs Boateng, explained that, it is the wish of the Foundation to help set-up all the beneficiary of the workshop and called for financial support from other organisations.

As part of the workshop, participants were given health tit bits as well as taken through health screening.
