NHIS is the best legacy for Ghanaians -DCE

Barekese (Ash), Jan 29, GNA- The best legacy that the New Patriotic Party government can bequeath to Ghanaians is the smooth and successful implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Mr Charles Yeboah, Atwima District Chief Executive, has said. He has therefore urged Ghanaians to lend their maximum support to the scheme to enable the government to adequately cater for their health needs.

Mr Yeboah was interacting with teachers at Barekese, Adankwame and Nkawie circuits at separate forums as part of his familiarisation visits to educate teachers on government policies and programmes on Tuesday. He advised Ghanaians not to politicise the scheme, which, he said, "Does not augur well for the smooth implementation of laudable government policies.''

Mr Yeboah congratulated Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, the District Director of Education on his election as the National President of Conference of District Directors of Education (CODDE) and also commended the teachers for their dedication.

The DCE advised the teachers to lend their full support to the Electoral Commission (EC) to enable it compile a credible voters' register for the December general elections.

Mr Obeng-Darko on his part expressed the directorate appreciation to the district assembly for its support for education in the district and advised the teachers to justify the huge investment being made by the assembly, government and other donor agencies by working hard.
