NPP Bags Millions

In its avowed determination to better its performance in the December general elections, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has put in place a workable strategy to raise enough funds for the battle.

In that direction, the party has asked all members interested in partaking of the primaries, to pay a non-refundable deposit of eleven million cedis (?11 million).

This move, the party gurus explained, was not to create the chance for certain rich members who could afford it, neither was it meant to scare potential MPs, but to swell their kitty.

So far, 84 candidates in Ashanti, and 37 in Brong Ahafo, have paid a whopping one billion, three hundred and thirty-one million cedis for the party, in terms of nomination fees.
