NPP Dadekotopon solicits for funds

The La Dadekotopon Constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a monthly fund-raising codenamed: “Operation GH¢2.00” to solicit funds from its members and supporters to assist the party towards election 2012.

Launching the programme, Mr Oscar Odoi Glover, NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency said the time had come for all supporters and sympathisers to contribute their widows’ mite towards the party’s activities.

Mr Glover explained that the NPP has more than 10,000 dedicated and committed members in the constituency and that if at least 3,000 people pay their contribution of the GH¢2.00 the party could raise GH¢6,000 into its coffers every month.

He said if the substantial amount is raised it would help cater for electioneering programmes towards the December 2012 general election and would reduce the burden on the national chest of the party.

He said; “This will also give members and supporters a sense of belonging and as part of the winning team.”

Mr Torgbor Sai, Constituency Vice Chairman appealed to the youth who have attained the age of 18 to register in the forthcoming biometric registration exercise so that they become eligible voters.

He said: “The registration exercise gives you the power to vote and change the government and its prevailing harsh economic situation for a better living standard.”

Mr Adjei Sowah, Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the party urged NPP supporters to critically observe the biometric registration exercise while appealing to them to educate their colleagues to understand it.

Mrs Cecilia Eguakun, Chairperson of the Constituency Council of Elders and Mr Frank Davies, Chairman, graced the occasion.**
