Correspondence from Upper East:
Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage, has expressed strong optimism in winning the Navrongo Central Parliamentary primary.
According to her, contrary to the perception that her candidature was to test the waters, her decision to contest the primary was to challenge herself.
She added that her excellence in managing the region, 19 months into her appointment as Minister was an indication of her capability and was very hopeful the delegates would massively endorse her bid to win the Parliamentary slot.
Speaking to GhanaWeb after monitoring the voting process, Ms. Abayage said, "I haven't done badly as a regional minister. If I have been able to manage the region this far, one year and seven months in office, why can't I manage a constituency".
"People think I have come to test the waters, she's coming in to show herself and make herself popular but no. I'm in this game to win and I'm very certain that when the votes are counted after 1 pm, we (herself and team) are winning this election," Ms. Abayage stated.
Ms. Abayage stated that her win would boost the chances of the New Patriotic Party in the constituency.
"I'm going to win and when I win, I will go further to win the Parliamentary seat and win the Presidency in the constituency for the first time". She stated.
