Some Leading members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) are livid with the Party’s 2012 Campaign Manager, Mr. Boakye Agyarko.
Their anger stems from the fact that the 2012 Campaign Manager of the Party has been irrational in his decision to describe some on-going development projects being executed by the John Dramani Mahama/Amissah Arthur-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government as ‘waste’.
“For the fact that we want power in 2016 do not mean party members should engage in any kind of cheap propaganda that has the propensity to have the party being labelled anti-development;” some of the leading members of the NPP, who spoke to this paper on condition of anonymity, stated in a rebuttal to Mr. Boakye Agyarko’s description of development projects undertaken by the current government.
According to them, for the fact that the yet-to-be constructed interchange at Kasoa and the ongoing interchange at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle were not being executed by an NPP government, does not warrant derision like that of the Party’s 2012 Campaign Manager.
“Mr. Agyarko, could have made his criticism without necessarily describing the on-going interchange project at the Nkrumah Circle and the soon-to-be commenced one at Kasoa as a waste of the taxpayer’s money, if he has some additional information to share.
In fact, having being quoted by media reports admitting that he has no knowledge of some benefits of the project apart from the flow of traffic, he should be very circumspect in his choice of words.
“To us, he has caused a major political blunder, that will take the party enough time to repair,” these leading light in the party bluntly stated.
