NPP Kingpin defects to NDC

The former campaign manager for the New Patriotic Party during the 1996 elections, Alhaji Issaka Inusa, today announced his defection to the ruling National Democratic Congress.

Alhaji Issaka, who in recent times threatened to resign from the party over certain differences with the party hierarchy, said although he has served the tradition of the party for forty years, he is kicking against what he describes as undemocratic tendencies within the NPP. Earlier, the Accra Mail newspaper had reported that the former NPP stalwart was unhappy that his party had not held a congress to choose a candidate for the West Ayawaso constituency. JOY ONLINE is closely monitoring the defection and will bring a detailed report in subsequent bulletins.
