New Patriotic Party (NPP) Loyal Ladies, a support group which was established to mobilize young women to vote for the NPP in the 2016 elections, yesterday marked its first anniversary.

The group expressed appreciation to God for helping its members to overcome the numerous challenges to put Ghana on the path of prosperity.

A statement signed by Perpetual Lomokie Akwada and Martha Kodua, leaders of the group, thanked the people of Ghana for rallying behind them since its inception, particularly during the electioneering period.

“The group believes that this support and subsequent victory of the NPP in the December polls show the extent to which the country believes in the philosophy of the group and the NPP in general as well as the principle of multi-party democracy,” the statement said.

The NPP Loyal Ladies expressed its belief in the current administration led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“We believe that the President has the welfare of Ghanaians at heart and will work assiduously with his team to ensure socio-economic prosperity for all,” it indicated.

The group also reiterated its commitment to working together to help the NPP to implement its policies to improve the lives of the good people of Ghana.

“This is based on our conviction that it is only through teamwork and collective efforts of membership of the group that the change which Ghanaians voted for can be realized and actualized, it said.

“We firmly believe in the role of women and for that matter the youth in bringing about social change.”

As part of its activities, the group would mobilize women and marginalized groups to engage in skills training in order to empower them to enhance the socio-economic growth and development of the country.

The Loyal Ladies canvassed votes for the NPP in rural communities and took the party’s campaign messages to the people.

It also engaged in charity work in deprived communities to help the NPP to win power.
