NPP Organiser for La Dadekotopon to unite feuding factions

Accra, Oct. 19, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Baah, newly elected Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for La Dadekotopon, has pledged to unite all feuding factions within the constituency to recapture the parliamentary seat in 2008.

The 29-year-old Entrepreneur, elected at the Constituency Delegates' Congress at the weekend, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that without a united front, all the lofty ideas of the new executives to win the seat from the main opposition National Democratic Congress would not succeed.

He said infighting among supporters caused the party to lose the seat in Election 2004, therefore, it was time all and sundry realised that factionalism had been the biggest draw back to the aspirations of the party.

Mr Baah said to unite members, local cells for party members would be formed to ensure that all activities and programmes of the party from the constituency, regional and national levels trickle down to the grassroots to counter the propaganda machinery of the opposition parties to derail the gains made by the Kufuor administration. He appealed to losers in the elections not to be downhearted but to gird their loins with the in-coming executives to help the party recapture the lost grounds from Election 2004. Mr Baah advised the newly elected executives not to rest on their oars because the actual work they aspire to undertake for the party to win the 2008 elections had now begun.

Other members of the executives elected were Mrs Gladys Dedey; Chairperson, Mr Seth Antwi; First Vice Chairman, Madam Agnes Odoi; Second Vice Chairperson, Mr Benjamin Owusu Osei; Secretary, Mr William Ayi Annang; Assistant Secretary and Mr John Tetteh Annang, Treasurer. Madam Patience Obodai, was elected Women's Organiser and Mr Annang Baker, Youth Organiser.
