Kumasi, Oct 3, GNA - Mr Owusu Bempah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman of the newly created Kwadaso constituency in the Kumasi metropolis, at the weekend said the Party would consider a defeat in the 2004 General Election as an act of God and would accept any such development in good faith. He said the NPP would also consider victory in the elections as the same act of God and would be grateful for such an outcome.

Mr Bempah who was speaking at a ceremony to introduce Miss Josephine Hilda Addo, the NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency to the electorate on Sunday, said the NPP would not support any acts of violence and appealed to party supporters to comport themselves during the polls. Mr F.F. Antoh, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, said the creation of three constituencies out of the former Bantama constituency would help accelerate the development of these areas.

Miss Addo expressed appreciation to the party's supporters for electing her to contest the elections.
