NPP Philadelphia gears up for elections 2012

The New Patriotic Party branch in Philadelphia (NPP-Philadelphia) has resolved to continue working hard in its quest to help the party return to power in the general elections scheduled for December 2012.At the group’s general meeting held over the weekend, members acknowledged that Ghanaians deserve better leadership than they are getting under the current Mills-Mahama led administration.

Lawyer Kwame Agyeman, the Interim Chairman of NPP-Philly, was happy at the turn out at the meeting and pointed out that it was indicative of the zeal of Ghanaians living in the Philadelphia area to mobilize themselves to form an important constituent of the NPP – USA family, which will contribute its share to the party’s mission to return to power.

Members bemoaned the high levels of inefficiency in the government which is having a negative impact on the productivity of Ghanaians. Ernest Osei Tannoah aka Agya Sei who returned from Ghana at the beginning of this year felt disappointed that the structures and viable economic landscape that were left when the NPP handed over in 2008 were deteriorating at an alarming rate. He cited the constant outages of electricity within a day and the ‘unconcerned’ attitude of government to provide any solution. “Half the country was without lights for four hours and the government is not concerned about people’s cry”, he lamented.

Members reiterated their resolve to work assiduously to stimulate old members and engage new ones to increase the fold of membership of NPP-Philly.

Weekly meetings have been scheduled for Sundays, 3:00pm at 7501 Oak Lane, Melrose Park 19027. All interested should contact Kweku Mensah Acquah on 001.484.751.8829 or email: npp.philadelphia@aol.com
