NPP Sensitises Ward officers on Registration Exercise

Winneba, March 8, GNA - The Central Regional NPP Organiser, Alhaji Muhamadu Zibril has called on ward chairmen, secretaries and other key leaders of the party in the region to play active and pragmatic roles in the forthcoming voters registration exercise.

He said the success of the impending registration programme must be considered as one of the important national assignments, which calls for the collective participation of all citizens aged 18 years and above. Alhaji Zibril was sensitising ward executives of the party in the Effutu-Awutu-Senya administrative area at Winneba on the procedures guiding the March 18 registration exercise.

Alhaji Zibril appealed to Ghanaians not to allow partisan politics to destroy the brotherly relations that exist between the various ethnic groups, assuring the electorate in the region of the NPP's determination to ensure decent registration exercise and elections that would follow-up later in the year.

Captain Steve Kwamena Armah (rtd), District Chief Executive for the area, urged ward executives of the party and wings to explain to the prospective voters that the registration exercise, which seeks to promote the country's democracy, will be conducted in an appreciable manner to avoid misunderstanding among the people.

Capt. Armah hoped that the participants would make good use of the knowledge and skills gained at the workshop in the interest of democracy and national progress at all levels.
