NPP-USA heartily congratulates Nana Adu Bonsra on the massive victory margin of the just concluded Fomena by-election. Nana Bonsra and the NPP won by a record-setting 82%!Eighty-two percent speaks volumes on the mood of the country as the contending political parties ready themselves for the 2008 Sweepstakes. If the victory in Fomena is any indication then we are talking about a historic victory margin of more than 70% by the NPP in 2008. This would be an overwhelming endorsement of the significant achievements of the NPP Administration under President J.A. Kufuor in six short years. Everywhere Ghanaians turn, their eyes do not deceive them- the long miles of neatly paved roads; fleshly painted and glistering school buildings; youth busily working; people speaking their minds without fear; jails empty of political prisoners; tourists pouring in to boost the economy; foreign dignitaries visiting; Ghana’s own Kofi Annan deciding to retire to a new peaceful Ghana to engage in Agriculture to further boost the economy; school children being educated, eating and riding free of charge; a stabilized cedi that has value; and on and on and on. Ghanaians are wise to trust the continuation of these goodies to the same team that has worked tirelessly to bring them home in the first place- NPP! NPP! NPP!
As they are saying and singing in Ghana- “We have seen the difference.” The work is by no means completed, and that is the more reason to rehire the contractor - NPP – “Na Party Papa!”
NPP-USA joins our brothers and sisters in the UK and Ireland in extending our appreciation to the Party Hierarchy led by the Chairman Peter Mac Manu and all the MPs and functionaries who went to Fomena in person or in kind to ensure this resounding victory.
We encourage all Ghanaians of sound mind to join us. There is plenty of room and don’t believe any lies – NPP is for all Ghanaians, just as the public works of roads, water and housing go everywhere in Ghana. Cheap shots against Asantefuo don’t make the solid progress go away. Do you prefer to speak Ga? Come in, Ewe? - You are welcome. Hausa- We are all one. There is only one Ghana and it is for its entire people.
We take this opportunity to strongly disclaim knowledge of one Charles Biney who is claiming to speak for NPP North America and is suggesting that we are all in support of one candidate (Daily Guide- January 24th). One thing we are sure of is that Mr. Biney has not paid his dues and has no mandate to speak or write in the name of NPP-USA or NPP North America. NPP-USA supports ALL the highly qualified NPP Presidential Aspirants and wishes each one the best. We have launched a fundraising campaign that will support the campaigns of the ultimate one flag-bearer and members of our group who will contest parliamentary seats. Until then, NPP-USA as a collective at the National level has no official preference. They are all good and capable. After all, they are all from “NPP- Na Party Papa!”
