A leader of Delta Forces, a vigilante group affiliated to the New Patriotic Party, has called for immediate investigations into the illegitimate operation of Mr. Ekwow Awusi, leader of the Anti-Galamsey taskforce.

According to Kwadwo Bamba, Mr. Awusi is working against the interest of President Nana Akufo-Addo and the ruling New Patriotic Party with the position given him to work against illegal mining which has become a major threat to river bodies.

“I want to use this opportunity to plead to the Chief of Staff at the presidency and the president of the Republic, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare to conduct immediate investigations into the work of the Central region 1st Vice-Chairman of the NPP Mr. Ekow Awusi, as director of operation stop Galamsey in the country.

“If we don’t take care as a party Mr. Awusi’s activities in the country will hurt Ghanaians and the NPP will be the one to suffer from the anger of Ghanaians,” he told Ultimate FM’s, Isaac Bediako Justice.

He added that the wish of the president is to halt illegal mining activities across the country, however, what is going on in the country clearly shows that Mr. Awusi is working for his “selfish interest.”

“I am very worried but I don’t want to wash our dirty clothes in public, the party leaders must pick this matter up with the needed attention it requires else we will suffer the consequences,” he bemoaned.
