NPP Vice Chairman predicts landslide victory for the party

Wamfie (B/A) May 4, GNA - Mr Stephen Ayensu Ntim, First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party stated at the weekend that the party was cruising to a landslide victory in the December elections.

He however, indicated that although the party had done its homework well with the number of development projects throughout the country and riding on the goodwill of the people, "we still have to work harder for the resounding victory".

Speaking to newsmen at Wamfie, his hometown in the Dormaa District of Brong Ahafo, Mr Ntim cautioned executives and members of the party not to be complacent with what had been achieved and to eschew arrogant behaviour.

He explained that the NPP was poised to grab 150 out of the 240 seats in Parliament and urged members of the party not to relent in efforts but to work harder towards the realisation of this goal. Mr Ntim said the party's concentration in the region was to break the dominance of the NDC in some constituencies and as such greater and genuine efforts were being made to ensure this in the December elections and thereafter.

Notified about the "untoward" attitude of some District Chief Executives in the region against the press, the First Vice Chairman expressed regret and said that they had been admonished to change such attitude and not only to a particular group of persons but also to all in the society.

"We have admonished them to live up to the modest and humble character and behaviour of the party and its leader, President John Agyekum Kufour and we shall continue to admonish them to put up desirable behaviour", he said.

Mr Ntim stated that even though the problem was with every human institution, the party was doing all it could to help its operatives to shed behaviours and attitudes that would drag its name into disrepute.
