NPP Wants Me Out Of Parliament -Bagbin

The minority leader, Mr. Alban Bagbin, has alleged that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government wants to get him out of Parliament. This he said was because ?the NPP sees me as the major obstacle to the perpetuation of their culture of nepotism, tribalism and inept governance?.

?Get Bagbin out of the way so we can have our way, they keep proclaiming?, he added. Mr. Bagbin made the allegation after he had been endorsed as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Nadowli West at a delegate?s conference at Nadowli at the weekend. He said but the bad news for the NPP was that the NDC would win the elections by a wider margin than ever, come December 7, 2004. He said the victory would be so resounding and emphatic because of the hard work and support of the party activists.

According to Mr. Bagbin, it would take a miracle for the NPP to win this year?s election, ?but unfortunately for them, miracles don?t work in favour of people who fail the litmus test of probity and accountability. He said the NDC?s victory in this year?s election would begin in the Nadowli west constituency. ?We won?t cheat, we won?t rig, as always, we would sweep the votes in a clean, fair campaign that addresses issues; a campaign that won?t vilify any personality or group of people, he told the electorates. He however said it was expected that all political parties did the same so that sanity would prevail in the political landscape in the constituency.
