NPP asks; where are the Pink Sheet culprits

A Deputy Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has raised questions about the whereabouts and status of the case involving Akumanue Benjamin Akandi, Savelugu-Nanton District Election Officer, Salamatu Osman and Godfred Oakley, Deputy Northern Regional director of the Electoral Commission (EC) who were arrested a little over one month ago for allegedly conniving and bribing Presiding Officers in the December 2012 Elections to sign unsigned Pink Sheets, two clear months after the polls.

The party in a statement recalled that Salamatu Osman had confessed to the police that she was asked by her superiors to procure the signatures of Presiding Officers and was confirmed by Akumanue which subsequently led to the arrest of Oakley as well.

Yaw Baubeng Asamoah underscored that the country waits to be informed by both the EC and the police about their findings and the next line of action.
