NPP campaign to take off soon

The New Patriotic Party, NPP will officially launch the final phase of its campaign for the 2000 elections in the Volta regional capital Ho in late August when the party holds a special congress.

JOY FM correspondent, Mavis Afrakoma Akoto, reports that even though the NPP has started it’s campaign it still has a lot more to do in carrying its message to the Rural areas. The party’s campaign for positive change has already taken the party’s flagbearer J A Kufour to the Bono Ahafo region, parts of the Central, Upper East and Upper West regions as well as northern parts of the Volta region and some parts of the Eastern region. According to the national campaign manager of the party Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, this makes up Mr. Kufour’s first tour of these areas, leaving the party with a lot more to do. The NPP, believes while it is a long way to the December elections it still has a very short time to complete it’s campaign. Assessing the extent of the party’s campaign, he maintains that they have a lot more to do in carrying the message of radical positive change to the electorate, particularly in the rural areas.

Alongside its desire for the presidency the party is seriously eyeing a majority in parliament to enable subscribers to its manifesto drive it forward.
