NPP cannot afford to lose 2016 - Konadu Apraku

Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on members of the party to elect the right leader to ensure victory in the 2016 presidential election.

According to him, the right leader would help transform and improve the fortunes of the NPP and save it from losing power again.

Dr Apraku, who was Minister of Regional Cooperation and New Partnership for Africa’s Development in the Kufuor government, made the call at a lecture organised by the University of Education, Winneba branch of Tertiary Education Student Confederacy of the NPP in Winneba.

According to Dr Apraku, also a former Member of Parliament for Offinso-North, the party had suffered defeat two consecutive times in presidential elections and should not suffer another lost for the third time.

Dr Apraku said the party cannot afford to lose the 2016 presidential election and called on members to work extra hard to ensure victory.

He said the NPP built a strong economy before it handed over to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), but this has been reversed to an unbearable situation, making Ghanaiansface hardship.

Mr Sammy Awuku, NPP Aspiring National Youth Organizer said Ghanaians are going through terrible economic hardship due to the bad policies and programmes of the NDC government.

He said all the social interventions adopted under the Kufuor administration to mitigate the economic hardship of the ordinary Ghanaian had been collapsed under President John Dramani Mahama.

He said the government is doing very little to fight bribery and corruption in the country.

Mr Alex Afenyo Markin, MP for Effutu, said NPP is the only competent party capable of making Ghana a better place to live.

He called on the rank and file members of the NPP to bury their differences and work hard for the party to win the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.
