Patrick Kwarteng Sarpong, a member of the communications team of the New Patriotic Party, has issued a strongly-worded response to the President of the Groupe Nduom conglomerate, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, following his derision of him after his critical article on Sampson Lardy Ayenini’s view on the revocation of the license of GN Bank by the Bank of Ghana.

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, in a social media post, belittled PK Sarpong and wondered why the media platforms which published his article gave him the platforms.

A part of Nduom’s post reads: “I am told some small boy footsoldier called PK Sarpong is using failed BoG propaganda to call Sampson Lardy Ayenini senseless?”

In response to Nduom’s post, PK Sarpong maintained his viewpoint that the revocation of the license of GN Bank was a legitimate move by the Bank of Ghana.

According to him, subsequent court rulings on the move by the Bank of Ghana reaffirm the step taken by the central bank to close down the bank.

He also slammed Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom for not advancing an argument to counter his points but rather deriding him.

“Sir, I expected more from your response. I wanted you to dispute what I captured in my letter with counterfacts or information.

You say what the Bank of Ghana has been saying is nothing short of a propaganda ploy to obfuscate the real issues pertaining to the revocation of GN Bank’s operating licence, if I am not mistaken, so what are the ‘true’ facts?

Is it not strange that the central bank would just revoke your banking license for whatever reasons and the courts would buy into their claims?

Sir, let us even, for argument’s sake, say that the Bank of Ghana was unfair to you, didn’t you go to the High Court and you were thrown out?

You didn’t end it there, you went for an appeal of the decision of the High Court and the Appeals Court also upheld the decision of the Bank of Ghana to revoke your license.

If the Bank of Ghana people ‘hate’ you so much so that they took your license, does it also mean that the Judiciary, the body that protects the fundamental rights of citizens, the body that helps individuals and organizations better understand their legal rights and responsibilities, also hate you? Come on, Dr. Nduom,” parts of the statement read.

The development follows Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom’s recent visit to former president John Dramani Mahama, during which he basically sought to say that he was a subject of a vindictive and targeted move by the BoG and the Ministry of Finance.

During the meeting on Friday, July 19, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the Global President of Groupe Nduom, expressed concern over the deteriorating state of the bank’s 300 centres across the country.
