NPP congratulates Ghanaians

Accra, June 30, GNA - The National Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Friday urged Ghanaians to rededicate themselves to the principles of hard work, unity, nationalism, the rule of law, fairness, justice and be confident that "We as a people can make it." The call was made in a congratulatory message to Ghanaians on the occasion of Republic Day that falls on Saturday, July 01.

The message issued in Accra and signed by Nana Ohene-Ntow, General Secretary of the party said, " On the occasion of Ghana's Republic Day which falls tomorrow, Saturday July 01, 2006, the NPP congratulates the Government and all the good people of our dear nation for attaining 46 years of Republican status."

It said " the NPP is particularly gratified that this year's Republic Day celebration has coincided with a number of happy events, namely the Black Stars' historic achievement at the World Cup tournament."

"The institution of National Honours Awards by the President and the growing respect and goodwill that Ghana continues to enjoy among the comity of nations."

The statement said " We recognise both our forebears and the current generation whose faith in the nation has carried us this far and take this opportunity to reassure our compatriots that the NPP both as a party and Government will continue to provide leadership that certainly guarantees a safe, happy and prosperous nation for all citizens of Ghana."

"We take this opportunity to specially salute the National team, the Black Stars for the gigantic honour and glory they have done Ghana on our 46th Republican anniversary celebrations. Black Stars 'Ye Ma Mo Mo Ne Yo'," it added.
