The Member of Parliament for Ketu North and chairman for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) James Klutse Avedzi has accused the governing New Patriotic Party of destroying the political future of the suspended deputy Minister for Sports Pius Hadzide.
Hadzide was suspended by President, Nana Akufo-Addo last month alongside the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Robert Sarfo Mensah for their alleged roles in the scandal that saw the deportation of about 50 Ghanaians camouflaging as journalists at the just ended Commonwealth games in Gold Coast, Australia.
A pressure group, the Truth and Accountability Governance has called for the suspension of the Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah alongside his deputy to allow for “unimpeded” probe into the deportation scandal that hit the country.
Speaking during a call on the Volta Regional Minister Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa Monday, Mr. Avedzi said the suspended deputy Minister is the only viable member of the ruling government who can wrestle the Ketu South Parliamentary seat from him, but the NPP is destroying him.
“The only candidate who you can get is Hadzide but you are destroying him,” he said.
