Worawora (V/R), Feb. 16, GNA - Mr. Forson Anane, a 50-year-old Accra based businessman, has been elected as the chairman of the Biakoye constituency of the New Patriotic Party at a delegates conference at Worawora.
Addressing the delegates Mr. Laud Commey, National Organizer of the party, reminded them that the task ahead was enormous and advised them to put their house in order to win the Biakoye constituency seat in Election 2008.
He said the National Council of the party decided at the National Delegates Conference held in Koforidua that elections should be held in some constituencies in the Volta and Ashanti regions that could not do so due to writs filed in court.
Mr. Solomon Kwame Donkor, the Jasikan District Chief Executive, praised the delegates for the peaceful elections and urged them to bury their differences in the interest of the party and expressed his readiness to support the party in the Buem and Biakoye constituencies for victory in next year's general elections.
Mr. Kwasi Owusu-Yeboah, a former Volta Regional Minister, commended the national leadership for bringing peace in the constituency and said the squabbling was a disservice to the party and appealed to all to come together to build the party in the constituency. 16 Feb. 2007
