Kwame Asare Obeng otherwise known as A Plus has observed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) may have fallen for the bragging of Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu that he was capable of fighting corruption to be appointed Special Prosecutor.
He explains that this was done after the Former Attorney General under the Professor Evans Atta Mills administration engaged in a turf war with Alfred Agbese Woyome for fraudulently receiving 51 million Ghana cedis from government.
This was followed by a petition he in his individual capacity sent to the Supreme Court to allow him cross-examine Mr. Woyome to assist them collect the money all to showcase his competence.
A Plus is however disappointed that since his engagement as Special Prosecutor, he is not living up to the satisfaction of Ghanaians wondering what or who could be holding him back from executing his mandate.
According to him, the state cannot continue to lavish on someone like him when he is not living up to his mandate wondering why he will still continue to enjoy an amount thrice what was given to Woyome, accommodation, a huge office, V8s, saloon cars, fat salary, and uniformed police officers as bodyguards but has nothing on the table to show.
He reminded Ghanaians about how NPP firebrand Kennedy Agyapong warned against the engagement of Mr. Amidu as Special Prosecutor revealing that he stands vindicated by the turn of events.
In a post sighted by MyNewsGh.com, he wrote “Woyome is accused of fraudulently receiving 51 million Ghana cedis from government. Martin Amidu made all the noise that he could retrieve the money. From that his 2 bedroom house he petitioned the Supreme Court to allow him cross examine Woyome to assist them collect the money.
The NPP government fell for Amidu’s bragging and made him the special prosecutor, gave him 180 million cedis, (more than three times what Woyome is accused of taking) gave him accommodation, a huge office, V8s, saloon cars, fat salary, uniformed police officers as bodyguards, etc but he has not been able to even find the person who said tweaaaa!!!
We will end up wasting more money on him than corrupt officials have stolen since Kwame Nkrumah.
Kennedy Agyapong spoke against this but they insulted him.
