Exasperation has characterized the NPP administration as they desperately try to find their feet after coming to terms with how much of a failure their government is and how poorly the country is performing under their watch, Managing Editor of the AlHajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu has said.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam on Tuesday, he argued that government, having absolutely nothing to boast of, has resorted to making ‘unnecessary noise’ about the only policy they have to a large extent, been able to pull through with since their coming into power; the Free SHS Policy. He accused President Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Bawumia of capitalizing on the realization of their flagship policy to cover up their numerous flaws.

“Everything the NPP is doing now is cosmetic, no laws are working in Ghana any longer, and politics has been imbibed in everything. Akufo-Addo and Bawumia have become like medicine sellers of old times, regardless of which sickness you complain of, they always recommend the same drug; APC. Akufo-Addo and Bawumia are behaving similarly, whatever complaints you make about the economy, they refer you to free SHS. Everything nowadays is Free SHS as if Free SHS is a solution to all Ghana’s problems. It’s not even one-hundreth of Ghana’s challenges. But they are using Free SHS as cover up for all their failures”.

“This Government is failing and failing terribly, they have no clue, they are frustrated, they are so much confused”, he said.

Touching on President Akufo-Addo’s allegations against the NDC as regarding the scrapping of some pro-poor policies meant to improve the lives of the less privileged in society, he described the President’s comments as mere fibs meant to get Ghanaians on their side.

“Akufo-Addo’s comments on the pro-poor policies were complete lies, fabrications, it’s very sad, the NDC must up its game. All pro-policies introduced by Kufuor and the NPP before 2008, the Mahama administration continued and promoted to the level no one could ever imagine and the records are there. NHIS and LEAP for instance excelled much better under the Mahama administration, Metro Mass which was collapsing was renewed by the Mills administration and today, the Ayalolo buses have been introduced”, he said.

He mocked his co-panelist Kennedy Agyapong for diverting the ‘heat’ from the NDC to his very own; the NPP because he has finally accepted the fact that his government has serious work to do. He also accused government of being pretentious by pointing out the problems of the country and complaining about the poor state of the country. According to him, these were issues which the NPP identified whilst in opposition and should have been better positioned to solve them a year into office.

“For some weeks now, Kennedy Agyapong has barely talked about NDC and anything they have or have not done but is focusing on his government rather? The reality is beginning to dawn on them now”, he mocked.

“All the complaints they make, they knew them before government came into power, whilst they were in opposition. What did they do about it?”, he quizzed.
