Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has belittled the Akufo-Addo-led government saying, the government is “not proud of its own record.”

The Bolga Central MP was speaking at a forum organized by pro-NDC group, Coalition for Restoration (CFR) under the theme: ‘The true state of the nation’, here in Accra.

According to him, developments which occurred, revealed that “this government is not proud of its own record... Quite clearly the President was not comfortable with the delivering of the speech but had to do it because it was a constitutional imperative.”

Outlining such proof of his assertions, he said, “for the first time in many years, the government presented the 2018 budget and that weekend, it was not the subject of top news review items for News File. The Top brains on finance and economy were on holiday that Saturday.”

“Clearly no government would want to present a budget and blank it out on an important weekend,” he intimated.

He added that the president saying questions from the media during his encounter with them were uncomfortable also resulted in that encounter not featuring in major newspaper review items for media houses to discuss.
