National communications officer of the largest opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has labeled the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government as loud-mouthed with zero actions.

He says the government has handled concerns and policies structured in battling the Coronavirus outbreak in a less proactive and sloppy manner.

He added that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is fond of delivering lofty promises but always found wanting when it comes to actual implementation.

According to Sammy Gyamfi, that has resulted in the current 1154 cases of coronavirus recorded in the country.

“Government’s handling of COVID-19 situation has not been the best. It’s been more of talk and less of action. It’s been sloppy, delayed in taking critical decisions. The response has not been proactive but rather reactive and that is what accounts for the situation we have on our hands. That’s why we have over 1154 persons testing positive for the disease,” he stated.

Sammy Gyamfi also noted that the fact that Ghana has recorded the most coronavirus cases in West Africa is worrisome.

“In the whole of West Africa today, Ghana is the leading country. We have more positive COVI-19 cases than any other country in West Africa. How can that be something to celebrate? Sierra Leone has recorded on 63 cases and only one death. Gambia has recorded ten positive cases with only one death. They adopted containment measures very early,” he established.
