NPP has dehumanised us, let’s restore our dignity by voting them out of office – Sulemana

Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana

The Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should be voted out of power because they have collapsed the economy.

Speaking to GHOne TV's Ibrahim Alhassan, at the University of Education where the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto launch is taking place, the lawmaker said “It is not about slogans. It is about solving problems. And I tell you, the person that can solve the problems of this country, given the fact that these guys have collapsed this economy, is His Excellency John Mahama.”

“They have dehumanized us as people. And so the only way we can restore our dignity is when we change them. And that is why I am calling on all Ghanaians.

“Let’s put our political interests somewhere and save this nation. And the only way we can save this nation is when we vote for His Excellency John Mahama,” he added.

When Mr. Sulemana was questioned on what Ghanaians should expect today, this is what he had to say.

“You see, expect a well-planned, well-detailed manifesto that will solve our problems in this country. Where we are today, anybody who wants to resolve the problems of this country will have to tackle agriculture and tackle it very, very well. So expect to hear more about agriculture. Expect to see more about agro-processing. Expect to see more about value-addition.

It is only when we do that, that we will have sufficient food to feed our people. It is only when we do that, that we will be able to get raw material to feed our factories.”

It is only when we do that, that we are able to export whatever we would have manufactured so that our city will appreciate. And that is the way His Excellency John Dramani Mahama wants to resolve the problem. Today, as I speak to you, food inflation is over 50%. He handed over this country with about 9.6% of food inflation. Today, look at where we are. He is a farmer, he understands farming, and he appreciates how to resolve the problems of farmers. And once we do that, I can assure you, within the next 100 days, you will begin to see things changing. And so the person to vote for is Mahama”.

“And I want Ghanaians to pay attention to the manifesto that he is going to launch today. This is a manifesto that was done, and carefully we have also identified sources of revenue to be able to fix the problem. So when it comes to agriculture and agro-processing, we know where to go and get the money. And we have done our homework to know the inflows. So it is going to see if we are going to promise, and we will not be able to deliver like we have seen with the NPP.”

As the ranking member of the Committee on Trade and Industry, he talked about the NDC’s answer to one district, one factory.

“I have just told you, you cannot have one district, one factory without the appropriate raw material. And it is only agriculture that will give you the raw material, so that if you have the raw material, you are able to feed the factory, and then you can now produce. Anything outside that, you will only be making noise and spending the taxpayers’ money for nothing. So much has been sunk into 1D1F, and there is nothing to show. 1D1F, are existing factories that the NDC supported earlier on.

Earlier on, the NDC supported more than 90% of these companies that get credit. We should have been the ones saying that we have supported 1D1F companies,” said Mr. Sulemana
