NPP is 'chopping the state money waa waa' -JJ

I?m Not An Idiot

Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, the former President and Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that he?s not an idiot to call on Soldiers to arrest President Kufuor.

The former President contended that the most idiotic thing for him to do is to stand on a political party platform to call on soldiers to arrest President Kufuor and his government because ?if you?ve something on your mind, you don?t stand on a platform to state it?.

He added that the Government (NPP) is afraid of the mandate of the people, they know they are going to lose the December polls, so their strategy is to corrupt the moral and social values of the country by perpetuating lies to hold on to power.

Speaking in Accra yesterday at the opening of a three-day national delegates conference of cadres of the 31st December Revolution, former President Rawlings alleged that the ruling Government has accused the NDC of unbridled corruption but ironically, the NPP are the ones ?chopping the state money waa waa.? The Former President observed that recently when Kweku Baako Jnr. Editor of the Crusading Guide newspaper announced that he was going to South Africa and Switzerland to investigate the alleged stashing of millions of the tax Ghanaian-payers? money, he returned to the country, with nothing.

This is because one Gezel Yaaze, a woman who was working as a consultant to the Castle, and the Ministry of Finance, had told him that Rawlings was clean. ?That?s how Baako didn?t come back with anything,? he remarked. ?Before he travelled, Baako had told everyone that he was working with some Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and had given him all the necessary accoutrement to enable him to come back to Ghana with the ?Apo Kronkron?, stated a die-hard cadre.

Continuing, Rawlings said that Gezel Yaaze had met the Government and was contracted to check on him and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, but found nothing. The former President claimed however, that in the course of her work as a consultant, Miss Yaaze secured five (5) loan agreements for the NPP Administration and withdrew four (4) out of the five financial loan agreements because the NPP Government was not clean.

Talking on national security, he said it?s a big hoax to suggest that any member of the opposition in Ghana had planted the mercenary attack story in the Analyst, a Liberian Newspaper to destabilize Ghana.

According to Rawlings, the story was planted by the NPP Administration. He accused Mr. Francis Poku, National Security Co-ordinator of being behind all the various leakages about Rawlings? alleged subversive acts.
