Koforidua, Sept 21, GNA - Mr Lord Commey, the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on leadership of the various structures of the party to unite and solve problems confronting the party to enable it win the 2008 elections.
"The time has come for us to unite to assess and identify the mistakes we committed in Power Chapter One for corrections during Power Chapter Two to ensure us the victory in 2008."
Mr Commey was addressing a meeting of the Eastern Regional Executive and constituency executives from the 28 constituencies at Koforidua on Tuesday as part of his nationwide tour. He spoke about widespread disenchantment among many stalwarts and cadres of the party and said steps should be taken to recognize and honour them for their dedicated services.
Mr Commey admitted that the party was facing various challenges, mainly complaints and inter-personal differences, but appealed to the executives to prove equal to the challenges.
He called for the re-engineering of the party's structures, especially the 23,000 polling station leadership, to ensure that the party was united and viable at all times.
Mr Commey, therefore, expressed concern that some disgruntled contestants were violating the party's constitutional provisions on complaints and dispute resolution procedure and resorting to court injunctions.
Nana Adi Ankamah, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the party, stressed the need to the resort to dialogue in settling disputes among party members. 21 Sept 05
