Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the founder and leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel, has attributed the New Patriotic Party's loss in the 2024 general elections to their consistent attacks on the church and men of God.
According to the controversial man of God, the NPP diminished its chances of retaining power each time it launched baseless attacks on the church and pastors.
Speaking in an interview with TV3 monitored by Ghanaweb, Prophet Nigel Gaisie stated that the unprecedented outcome of the elections indicated a spiritual force behind the NPP's loss.
"One of the major things that caused the NPP to lose the 2024 election was their consistent attacks on the church. You could see how the elections went; it tells you that it wasn't by the hand of man, it was by a supernatural hand. This Nana Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government attacked the prophets; they attacked the church. Throughout history, nobody can attack men of God, attack the church, and win."
He continued: "This should be a lesson to the incoming Mahama government. This should be a lesson to President Mahama and his men and women that we should allow the nation to be built. If somebody has flouted the law, we should allow the person to face the law. But we should not scandalize people; we should not sit anywhere and say things which, even in the wildest imagination, we know are not true. So, one thing that affected this regime was their consistent attack on people like us."
The Electoral Commission declared the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama as the winner of Ghana’s 2024 presidential election, securing a remarkable return to the nation’s highest office after a fierce contest.
Mahama won with 6,328,397 votes cast representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, defeating his main contender, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes representing 41.61%.
The NDC also won huge majority in parliament securing over 180 seats out of the 276 seats.
