NPP manifesto: Three square meals a day is all Ghanaians need – Allotey Jacobs

A former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Allotey Jacobs, has said the New Patriotic Party's manifesto should be able to convince Ghanaians that they would be able to feed themselves three times a day with its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as President.

The governing party has announced that it will launch its manifesto for the 2024 elections in Takoradi, the Western regional capital, on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Consequently, the party has set up an 11-member committee to plan and execute the event.

Commenting on the upcoming manifesto launch on Peace FM, Allotey Jacobs stated that the NPP will see themselves exiting power if their manifesto fails to assure Ghanaians that their lives will be much better under a Dr. Bawumia Presidency.

"The NPP is set to launch its manifesto. What is important to Ghanaians is that they have three square meals. If the NPP manifesto will not tell Ghanaians how they would feed themselves by buying food at a cheap cost, then it will be a big worry for the party. Now in Ghana, when the dollar goes up, the prices of tomatoes and other vegetables also shoot up.

"By our nature as Ghanaians, if there's a short period of hardship, we change our attitude toward the government and start complaining bitterly. So, the NPP manifesto should be able to convince Ghanaians who have lost hope in the government that the party has good plans and policies to turn things around and make life a bit comfortable for the masses who are struggling to make ends meet.

“But I believe that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not the past; he is the future. So, the NPP should let us hear the magic in their manifesto. Their leader, Dr. Bawumia, has already assured the youth that better days lie ahead, and so there's hope. Their manifesto should also build up the hope we have in Dr. Bawumia," Allotey Jacobs said.
