NPP polls: Karbo, Atta Akyea win, Nimo loses

The incumbent Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa South constituency of the New Patriotic Party Samuel Atta Akyea has been retained by the party’s delegates to recontest in the 2016 elections.

The lawmaker polled 332 votes as against 76 votes by his main rival Kwame Boateng and Kingsley Agyemang who had a meagre 48.

Meanwhile, a former national youth organiser of the party Anthony Karbo won massively in the Lawra constituency of the Upper West region. He had 355 votes against his sole contender Joseph Dontaa who polled 63 votes.

In the Ashanti region, a former presidential candidate and the incumbent MP Francis Addai-Nimo lost his Mampong seat. He polled 207 votes as against Kweku Ampratwum Sarpong who won with 232 votes.

Benjamin Arthur had 66 votes while Peter Abum Sarkodie has 33 votes.
