NPP predicts to win 15 seats in C/R - Organiser

Kenyankor (C/R), Nov. 11, The Central Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Mohammed Gibrine has predicted that the Party would win 15 out of the 19 parliamentary seats in the Region in Election 2004.

He said the Party had gained enough grounds to enable it to capture the seats in the Region, where the Presidential Candidate of the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), party hailed from. Alhaji Gibrine made the prediction when he introduced the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Agona East, Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng to the electorate at Kenyankor.

The ceremony coincided with the inauguration of a 223 million-cedi blocK of classrooms and teachers bungalow estimated at 77 million cedis financed from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and self-help. Alhaji Gibrine, who is also the NPP Co-ordinator for Zone (A) of the Region, which comprises Effutu, Awutu, Gomoa East and Agona East Constituencies, said the Party would assist Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom to win the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem seat from National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Regional Organiser, however, did not disclose the three constituencies that the NPP was going to lose.

Alhaji Gibrine predicted that Mr Agyabeng was going to win the seat from the NDC and commended the candidate, who is District Chief Executive for Agona, for putting resources provided by the Government to good use for the benefit of the people and urged the electorate to vote massively for President John Agyekum Kufuor and the Parliamentary Candidate.

Mr Agyaeng pledged to continue rendering selfless service to the people of the area when he was given the mandate to represent them in Parliament.

He told the people that the NPP would not disappoint them when they renewed the Party's mandate.
