NPP record in government makes it attractive to voters - NPP Organizer

Wa, Nov. 3, GNA - Mr John Ibrahim Donkor, Wa Central Constituency Organizer of the New Patriotic Party at the weekend said the Party would for the first time in the fourth republic win the Constituency's seat in next month's general elections.

He said President Kufuor's style of governance coupled with the numerous development projects especially the construction of well paved access roads in the Wa Municipality within the past seven years, had endeared the party to people in the area. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Wa, he said he did not know of any community in the constituency, which their main challengers for power could call their strong hold.

"Anybody who doubts my assertion should wait patiently for December 7, and the results from the constituency in both the Parliamentary and Presidential elections will confirm what I am saying.

"Nana Akufo-Addo has over the years marketed himself well to all Ghanaians and the People's Assemblies concept which President Kufuor introduced for the people to interact with the President and Government functionaries raised the image of the NPP," Mr Donkor said.

The Wa Central NPP Organizer enumerated educational, health and sanitation projects, which the government had provided the people in the constituency, saying that, almost every community could boast of one of these projects.

He said political skirmishes were absent in the constituency in this year's campaigns because their supporters were well educated on the need to maintain peace.

"They have come to the realization that politics is a contest of ideas and not an arena for accusations and counter accusations, insults and fighting".

He said President Kufuor has met over 90 per cent of his promises to the people of Ghana within his tenure and Nana Akufo-Addo would ride on the back of these achievements to achieve victory and continue with the rest. 3 Nov. 08
