Lawyer and politician, Capt. Nkrabea Effah Darteh (rtd), has described former president John Mahama as a joker.

According to him, Mahama is a wrong choice insofar as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is concerned.

In an interview with Okay FM, Effah Darteh added that the former president is simply wasting his time, and as such, the NDC should prepare for another term.

He explained that neither the New Patriotic Party (NPP) nor the NDC would be in power forever, and as such, the NDC should find another candidate who can secure power for them.

According to a report by peacefmonline.com, he went on to express his optimism about the chances of the NPP winning another term in 2020.

The retired military man’s comments are as a result of a demonstration held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Dubbed Kum Y3n Pr3ko, the act, which was organized by the Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ), was intended to express concerns about hardship, insecurity, and oppression being experienced under the current Akufo-Addo administration.

In other news, the minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has stated that the fact that those behind the murder of Ahmed Hussein-Suale are walking free, is a serious matter.

He added that the serious nature of the case should have been enough grounds for its conclusion long ago.

Nkrumah however noted that the government has advised the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, to act promptly on such cases in the interest of the public.

He went on to say that someone was recently arrested in connection with the case but was released after it was discovered that intelligence leading to the arrest was faulty.
