The Ashanti regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Samuel Pyne and Communications director Kwasi Kyei have been appointed to the board of the Kumasi abattoir.

Sources within the party have said that Mr. Pyne is not enthused about the appointment since he feels he deserves better.

The appointment comes after foot soldiers of the party agitated over their apparent snub by government since the party won power in the 2016 elections.

Checks from the regional office of the party say the two received their appointment letter through Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, Board chairman of the social security and national insurance trust (SSNIT), which operates the abattoir.

As a member of the abattoir board, he is entitled to a weekly supply of meat and a GHC200 allowance per a sitting.
