NPP salutes workers

As the world celebrates workers and organized labour tomorrow, the biggest opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has congratulated Ghanaian workers with a call on all to make sacrifices “for the development of mother Ghana in spite of the daunting challenges that face us all on a daily basis”.

In a statement signed by the NPP National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko, the NPP stated that, “As a Party, we are not oblivious of the fact that rising cost of living has eroded any gain that workers may have made with the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS), but we urge caution on all sides as you engage government and other stakeholders to consider a review of the minimum wage”.

NPP Salutes Workers

The Leadership and entire membership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) present our compliments to all workers and organized labour on the celebration of this years’ International May Day.

As we celebrate the Day, we salute all Ghanaian Workers for the sacrifices you continue to make for the development of mother Ghana in spite of the daunting challenges that face us all on a daily basis.

Our country is currently going through a bad patch and workers are at the receiving end of most of it all. Nevertheless we encourage you to keep hope alive and continue to offer your best in our collective interest and effort to make our nation a better place.

As a Party, we are not oblivious of the fact that rising cost of living has eroded any gain that workers may have made with the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) but we urge caution on all sides as you engage government and other stakeholders to consider a review of the minimum wage.

The ultimate relief can only come with the total transformation of the economy and with a better management of our resources. Together, we can bring about that transformation and a better management of our affairs.

We salute you.
