NPP secretary accused of peddling lies against parliamentary aspirant

Special assistant to Patrick Kwabena Ampong-Baidoo, Taofik Mohammed has admonished the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nii Odarlai Parker to tread cautiously or he will destroy the party.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said, although the regional secretary is an officer of the party, he should slow down.

He told host Kwabena Agyapong the accusations against his boss, ‘Blue Boy’ is baseless and without any proof.

Blue Boy was on Monday disqualified because he is a land guard and someone with a divisive nature.

The NPP secretary said it also came up during his vetting that he had threatened to harm and kill the regional vetting chair as well as accusing him [Parker] of supporting Tina Mensah, the incumbent to go unopposed.

But Taofik Mohammed rubbished the allegations and wondered why baseless accusations would be thrown at the aspirant.

He said, "the secretary should slow down. He should stop lying through his teeth. He is behaving as if he has a personal problem with Blue Boy. He has disappointed some of us who rooted for him. He is a regional secretary, and we respect him, but he should slow down. His action would affect the fortunes of the party".
