NPP should stop the hypocrisy; they did worse - Kwesi Pratt

President John Mahama has reiterated calls for peace in the country especially in the three northern regions for sustained development.

“You need peace to be able to develop. And this government is determined to move the development of Ghana to the next level. Therefore, we need absolute peace everywhere in the country especially in the Northern part of the country which lacks behind in terms of poverty,” he said.

President Mahama made this call when he paid a working visit to the Mamprugu Traditional Area.

According to him, government has outlined lots of projects for the three northern regions but added that these can only be achieved under peaceful conditions which according to him, will enable government to accelerate development.

He also revealed that government has initiated some peace processes to resolve the long standing dispute in the three northern regions which includes the Dagbon Chieftaincy crisis and the conflicts in Bawku.

President Mahama further reiterated government’s commitment to solving the economic challenges the country is currently facing.

He indicated that as President, he would take the “difficult decisions” which according to him, will make the economy conducive enough for small and medium scale businesses to grow so that it would create jobs for the youth.
