NPP supporters asked to rally behind government

Akim Osino (E/R), June 14, GNA - The Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Captain Nkrabea Effa-Dartey (rtd) has asked New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters to rally behind the NPP government to enable it to retain power in Election 2004. He said this would enable the NPP to continue with its sound socio-economic development programmes.

Capt Effah-Dartey said these when he was addressing political rallies at Osino, Begoro, Ahomahomaso, Busoso and Adjeikrom during a day's tour of the Fanteakwa District.

He said the Government had been able to improve the economy it met in ruins and democracy and rule of law had also been enhanced. Capt Effah-Dartey said many infrastructure developments involving the provision of roads, markets, schools and health facilities were ongoing in all the regions adding that the programme would be accelerated if the NPP were retained in power.

The Fanteakwa District Chief Executive, Mr Ebenezer Ofoe Ceasar introduced Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Addo as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Fanteakwa seat.

Mr Ceasar asked NPP supporters to bury their petty differences and support the candidate to enable him to win the seat.

Mr Agyei-Addo thanked the people for the trust reposed in him and pledged to work hard to win the seat with their support.

The Headmaster of the Osino Presbyterian Secondary-Technical School, Mr Kwadwo Acheampong-Sakyi called for unity and dedication among the NPP supporters to enable the Party to win the seat.

During an open forum, a farmer, Madam Akosua Ofosua appealed to the Government to create employment for the youth and also asked for financial assistance for farmers to enable them to increase production.
