NPP to win 2016 elections- Women’s Organizer

Madam Florence Kuribila, Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed confidence in the electorate to vote the party back to power in 2016.

She acknowledged the numerous complaints of hardship expressed by the populace and declared that Ghanaians may not have any better option than to place their hopes in the NPP to rescue the country from the heartless reign of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga at the weekend, the Regional Women’s Organizer said throughout the country, there were clear indications that Ghanaians would give their mandate to the NPP come the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to her, Ghanaians are bitter about the woeful performance of the NDC in several areas, including economic policies and the management of the country’s resources, and said Ghanaians from nerves to bones, were grudgingly expressing the hardships they were going through.

She mentioned constant increment of prices of petroleum products, the high cost of building materials, the rising cost of electricity and water, poor electricity and water supply, huge corruption and corruptible cases, the divide and rule tactics and excessive rise in the prices of foodstuffs, as few examples triggering their desire for change.

She emphasized, “majority of Ghanaians are finding it difficult to fend for themselves and their families, particularly the payment of school fees”.

The Regional Women's Organizer indicated that the serene atmosphere in which the NPP conducted its National Executive Conference in Tamale was an indication that the Party was poised to win the 2016 election.

She entreated all party members not to take sides in who becomes the flagbearer of the party, but to remain neutral and allow the delegates to determine that through the ballot box, adding that, “what is paramount is the party gaining power in the forthcoming election.”

She impressed upon party members and supporters to start campaigning now, so as to enable the party win more votes for victory, and suggested that they could use platforms, including weddings, naming ceremonies and funerals to campaign.

Madam Kuribila said she had met all the Women's Organizers in all the constituencies in the Upper East Region and had drawn an action plan to embark on vigorous campaigns to win more souls into the party.

She expressed regret at the low representation of women in leadership positions in the country, and indicated that when the Party gets the nod from the people, she will lobby to ensure that more women are appointed as Regional Ministers, Municipal and District Chief Executives and as Board members.

The Regional Women’s Organizer assured Ghanaians that it was only the NPP which could deliver Ghana from the economic woes, and appealed to the electorates to vote massively for the party during the 2016 elections.
