Former Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and former spokesperson of Jerry John Rawlings, Ambassador Victor Smith accused the Akufo Addo administration of plotting to rig the 2020 elections by using vigilantes.

In an interview with Ahotor FM’s morning show monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Victor Smith said “We are warning them that if they are planning to rig the elections by not allowing the ordinary citizen to vote base on their living conditions, they should not attempt…they are busy training vigilantes and foot soldiers to rig the elections”, he told the host Citizen Kofi Owusu.

This is not the first time Victor Smith is making this allegation, he has made similar allegations in the past.

He said on Kasapa FM last somewhere last year that NPP was taking some party thugs through a three-week weapons training in preparation for the upcoming 2020 general election.

“The NPP is training soldiers at Asutuare, we know where they are training some people also here in Accra. The NPP should continue to train and use them and we’ll see what will happen in Ghana…they give them three weeks of weapon training. if they[NPP] want the good of Ghana they should not use these people they are training.

The former Eastern Regional Minister further warned the NPP not to try to rig the 2020 elections as they did in 2016, else there would be total chaos in the country.
