The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Salam Mustapha, has made a resolute statement concerning the party’s stance on power and peace ahead of the December 2024 polls.

Speaking at a mini rally in Takoradi on Saturday, August 17, 2024, just a day before the party’s manifesto launch, Mustapha emphasised that while the NPP values peace, they are not willing to give up power solely to maintain it.

Mustapha asserted that the NPP is prepared to face any challenge posed by the National Democratic Congress, and that the party has strong, capable individuals ready to defend their position before, during, and after the elections.

“I’m also telling them that the NPP will not sacrifice power on the altar of peace, we will not do it. We will not submit, we will not be cowed, prevented, or pushed,” citinewsroom.com quoted Mustapha.

He further underscored the readiness of the NPP to stand its ground, hinting at the physical and moral strength of the party’s members.

“Look at my muscles, these muscles are natural, my muscles are full of bones. If the NDC believe they are stronger than us, they should dare in this election and they will see that we have the men,” he added.

Despite the strong rhetoric, Mustapha clarified that the NPP is committed to peace and the progress of Ghana, but he warned that they would not be forced out of power by any means.

“We’re for peace, we like peace, we’re for the progress of the country. But we will not be pushed out by any form of tactics. Ghanaians will make their choice and vote for the NPP,” he concluded.
