NPP won’t kidnap children to win 2020 polls - Gender Minister mocks Ofosu Ampofo

Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Morrison has attacked the modus operandi adopted by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“The NPP will not repeat John Mahama and Ofosu Ampofo style of kidnapping women and children”, she said when she took to podium to address Youth Conference and Inauguration of the NPP youth in Kumasi.

According to the gender activist, it is sad that the opposition NDC will want to resort to the kidnapping of innocent women, children, and lies to win power from the government that is doing so much to ameliorate the living standards of Ghanaian.

The programme was held under the theme: “Strengthening the Youth front; Sustaining power” and drew hundreds of party youth from all the forty-seven constituencies in the Region.

Earlier, Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah claimed his outfit had uncovered heinous plans and modus by the NDC ahead of the next general elections to frustrate efforts of the winning government in order to win more votes.

According to him, leading members of NDC, led by their 2020 flag bearer Mr. John Mahama are planning to launch scathing verbal attacks on President Akufo-Addo and his Vice president.

“First they will want to insult President Akufo-Addo, second Dr. Bawumia and third lie to the people in this Ashanti Region”, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah made these unsubstantiated allegations when he also addressed the teeming youth.
