The Executive Secretary of the NRC, Dr. Ken Attafuah, is at the centre of a double salary scandal.

From November 1, 2002, the NRC took over the payment of his salaries from CHRAJ. However, for three months (November 2002 – February 2003), Dr. Attafuah continued to draw his salary from CHRAJ while in addition receiving over US $1,600 (about ?14m) monthly salary from the NRC.

It took the vigilance of the Principal Accountant of CHRAJ, Mr. Theophilus Mensah-Aiddo, to detect the double salary.
