NRP former candidate rejoins NDC

Nkoranza (B/A), May 17, GNA - Mr. James Opoku-Worae, parliamentary candidate of the National Reform Party for Nkoranza in the 2000 elections has declared his intention to contest the Nkoranza South seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) this year. Mr. Opoku-Worae, a 58-year-old educationist and welfare officer of Techiman Municipal Education Office told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that his defection to NRP was for personal reasons.

He said he had decided to go back to his mother party, NDC, to help in mobilising more people to vote for the party to win the December polls.

The parliamentary aspirant is poised to contest in the primaries and should he win, would then contest for the parliamentary seat. Mr. Opoku-Worae emphasised that he has not just come to be "a wolf in a sheep's skin" in the NDC camp and that he would play any role and responsibility that would be expected of him.

He therefore, stressed the need for all NDC members to accept him as one of them and do things in common to ensure a resounding victory for the party in December.
