The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Secretary for Education aspirant, Gabriel Appiah, has donated a brand-new Dell desktop computer to the winning school of the maiden edition of the NUGS quiz competition. He was present at the grand finale of the NUGS quiz competition for basic schools, an initiative of the incumbent NUGS Secretary for Education, Asare Bediako.

As part of his contribution to this great initiative, Gabriel and his team donated the desktop PC, valued at GH₵8,000.00, to the winning school of the maiden NUGS quiz held at the SDA Senior High School in the Afigya Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region.

Gabriel Appiah, who is pursuing his Master's program at Cape Coast University, took the opportunity to engage with students from various basic schools in the district and encouraged them to fully participate in all educational programs to harness their talents and potential for a brighter future.

"I believe this idea, conceived by the current NUGS administration to bring this quiz competition to the doorstep of basic schools, giving them an opportunity to develop and showcase their intellectual abilities, is a step in the right direction.

"I commend the current NUGS administration, especially President Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel and Asare Bediako, for organizing such an inspiring, thoughtful, and impactful program. This is an excellent initiative focused on ensuring effective and all-inclusive education," he said.

In another development, Mr. Appiah, who has visited many schools in the country, was in the Bitim-Chinderi community in the Krachi Nchumuru district of the Oti region to witness firsthand the dedication of teachers and students striving for a better future.

As a concerned individual, Gabriel stated his belief in investing in the future of Ghana's education. To that end, he donated bags of cement to support the construction of a new classroom unit block championed by the 57th NUGS administration, a crucial step in ensuring a conducive learning environment for these learners.

"My commitment to 'transform to develop' extends beyond words, and I will continue to advocate for resources and initiatives that improve the educational landscape for all learners in the Oti region and Ghana at large," Gabriel asserted.

"I must say that education is one of the critical institutions in the socio-political and economic development of any country. It helps in transforming minds and the totality of the available human resource into significant social, political, and economic capital capable of harnessing the transformed knowledge base to meet agreed-upon developmental standards," he opined.
