Leaders of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) on Tuesday evening engaged in hot exchanges at the premises of TV3, leading to the firing of gunshots.
One group of ‘executives’ was invited for News @10 but all of a sudden a rival group stormed the premises of the television station to prevent the invited executives from holding themselves as leaders of the Union.
The hot exchanges resulted in the firing of gunshots. But for the timely intervention of police officers stationed at the Flagstaff House, the disagreement would have turned bloody.
The officially invited leaders had apparently come with two machomen, who prevented the other group from disturbing their pay masters. The uninvited group, then, pulled ‘higher’ strings which saw some police officers come to the scene to confront the machomen.
But officers stationed at the presidency came to the scene to round the machomen up, albeit not after firing warning shots.
